Bell Canyon

Bell Canyon is by far one of my most favorite hiking spots in all the world and so a few weeks ago I decided to introduce it to my kiddos for family night.  It's been an awfully long time since I've been up there and I had forgotten how steep and rocky (think boulders as tall as Caleb) the trail is.  It made for a serious workout, heaving him and his short little legs up that trail, but they both did great and we had a ton of fun.

View of the valley about half way to the reservoir
We found a nice spot by the water to have our little picnic
Made a few duck friends (check out all of the trail dust on that boy)
And dipped our toes!
This is the reservoir just a mile or so up the trail.  After the reservoir is when the trail gets really gorgeous and takes you up the canyon to several waterfalls, but this is where we decided to stop.  Someday when Cameron can come along to help with the Caleb man we'll venture all the way.
So proud of my little troopers!
At this point Olivia decided she needed a bathroom ASAP (great timing, right?) so we booked it back down the trail with the promise of a slurpee spurring us on.

Taking a quick rest by the river on our way down (she is seriously about to pee her pants and Caleb thought it was so funny watching her squirm)
They were OH-SO-DIRTY, hot and tired by the time we got home, but it was a GREAT evening!

You guys do so much fun stuff! Hopefully next summer things will be more settled here and we will have more time to enjoy this beautiful place we live. I will have to consult you for ideas!
