Pumpkinstein

Remember last year when my mom built a grow box for Olivia and from one tiny plant sprouted SIX amazing pumpkins? They did it again this year and waited... and waited... and nothing. Finally in September they discovered one lone pumpkin hiding under a leaf. It was a great looking pumpkin - very big and very round and very green. Finally a few days before Halloween we gave up on it ever turning orange, plucked it off the vine and took it home. so what do you do with a big, round and very green pumpkin?

Frankenpumpkin of course! (Or would it be Pumpkinstein?) We never could settle on a name, but here is Olivia's creation, complete with foil covered bolts, orange scars and purple eyes. I drew the outlines and helped a little with the eyes, but Livvy painted the rest. Doesn't he look great?!
And here are my two cute kiddos all dressed for Halloween. Olivia was a pirate and was dead set on Caleb being one as well, but after making her vest, I just couldn't sew another stitch and went to Walmart for this cute little spider costume. (There was supposed to be a hat, but despite the fact that the sizing was 6 months to 2T... we couldn't get it over his head!) All in all we had a great Halloween and got amazing use out of her costume. By the time it was trick-or-treating time she had already worn it to four other events.

Great pumpkin! She is so creative.

I hear you on the overkill. Usually each year we feel so tired out by the time Halloween night comes that we don't even go trick-or-treating. But I was very excited that this year we only participated in one very low-key halloween get together before halloween. So Trick-or-Treating was such a highlight to our season!

I love seeing pictures of your growing kids--they are adorable. We miss you guys.

cute kiddos. Our pumpkin was greenish too!? but not as green, that is one unique pumpkin. That is funny what you said about the parrot. Kyler didn't seem to think Hayden sitting on his shoulder would be a problem. In fact I had to convince him otherwise for Hayden's sake :)

May I inquire as to why you have not put up the pictures from Livvy's Halloween party? I want to see me on your blog. I've never been on it before. *tears* I still love you though!

Good job on Olivia Costume...ADORABLE! They both look so cute! And I love the pumpkin, it is cooler than having a regular old boring orange one any day :)
