My Olivia

Here is Olivia in her own little paradise. One of the things I love about this age is that they are so easily entertained and have such a great imagination. Every afternoon when we wind down for Caleb's nap and Livvy's quiet time (aka - mommy's quiet time...) she gears up into full imagination mode. I cannot even tell you the forts she's built and the games and characters she's created completely on her own. It's so fun to walk past her room and (if I can look past the mess...) see the little world she's created and hear her talking to herself.
Those of you who know Olivia even a little are probably very familiar with "Snuggles." Snuggles is the third child in our family. She has been Livvy's sidekick from about the age of 1 and they are never far apart. Snuggles has helped Olivia through the trauma of our move to Utah, preschool ups and downs, shots, a new brother and nights away from home. This poor bear is no longer the pink, fuzzy and snuggly friend she once was (having been through the wash about a zillion times). So the other day Olivia must have decided it was time for a makeover. Good thing she used a washable marker, because I have a feeling that the jaundiced look is a fleeting fashion trend that won't be "in" too much longer.
Check out what a great big sister my sweetie pie is! Caleb can kind of lose it on car rides (that is the understatement of the century actually - he is a screaming ball of fury much of the time) and Olivia is so great to hold his binky in and talk and sing to him when he starts to get upset. Here they are after his last meltdown on the way home from Grandma's house. Both exhausted from the screaming and both sound asleep. Notice what a devoted girl she is? Still holding in the binky.

That is sooo cute! I seriously just love Olivia after seeing that picture, and I don't even know her that well. :) Caleb sure is lucky to have such a thoughtful older sister to look after him!

Yea for livy! I really have enjoyed catching up on your last few posts. The mother advice hit home and I am glad to know that other moms out there have tuff days as well. I really am surprised with how HARD motherhood can be. This post reminded me of a cousin who hated the car....my aunt said he lived on benadryl whenever they went anywhere!
