One Last Hurrah!

Despite the very autumn-ish weather on Monday we decided to indulge in one last burst of spontaneity and head up to Strawberry Reservoir. When Livvy walked in the door from school we threw a picnic dinner, the fishing gear, both kids and Olivia's homework into the car and took off up Provo Canyon. The scenery was gorgeous, and even though it was a long drive, the kids did great and we had a fun little evening.
We started out picnicing on the shore while Cameron got the fishing poles all set up, but it was WINDY and our plates kept blowing away.
So I backed up the van, popped the trunk, and tucked the kids and their dinner into our makeshift wind shelter.
We never did end up catching any fish, but they both had a great time watching the birds, throwing rocks and running around in the wind.

I love this! Your so fun being so spontaneous! Those are sometimes the BEST outings.
