Thursday Ramble

Yet another whirlwind morning. Exercise, grocery store, laundry, clutter, kids ready, two hours at the health department waiting in line for the kids H1N1 vaccines and lunch. It's only 12:30 and I'm awfully jealous of the napping toddler down the hall. I thought after the primary sacrament meeting program was through life would slow down a little - but so far it hasn't. Cameron has had to work a lot of extra hours lately because the pharmacist he works with keeps putting in hours and hours of vacation and then going to work at another company - leaving Cameron to take all of his Albertsons shifts. I am missing my sidekick! And the kids are missing the fun parent in the family! Tuesday and Wednesday he finally had a little break and we worked on the house and ran errands and had some much needed family time. My closet and bedroom are both sparkling, a DI load was gathered up and dropped off, Halloween costumes are just about finished, I've been able to spend some extra time getting ready for our primary service project in November and preparing to train a new secretary, and Tuesday night we took the kids to an evening dollar movie in their pajamas and it was SO. MUCH. FUN! I've decided to stop waiting for our life to settle down (because it won't any time in the near future) and just sneak in the relaxation and fun whenever possible. The primary, Olivia's Girl Scout troop, piano students, Musikgarten class and Cameron's crazy work schedule are here to stay for awhile so hopefully I can learn to put them in their places and let my family take priority as often as possible. (And maybe occasionally sneak in some housework and exercise too?) Please tell me I'm not the only one who after 28 years of experience has still not learned how to handle the balancing act?
