Watching My Mouth

I was once again reminded today that kids are always listening. Always! After unsuccessfully trying to crack open her own pea pods at lunch today my sweet little daughter blurted out "Aw crap!" in the same tone of voice I use when something goes wrong and I just can't hold it in. I admit that in the grand scheme of things "Aw Crap!" is not the worst thing one could say when upset (and I couldn't keep from laughing just a little.) But it just sounds so terrible when coming out of the mouth of a four year old! So with the blog as my witness, I vow to ban that word from my vocabulary and be a better example. She'll be bombarded enough in August when she starts kindergarten, without hearing it from her mother as well.

Beth is constantly reminding me of this. Luckily I haven't been caught too badly yet, i've been waiting for this particular one to catch me too...Amazing what our little ones teach us!!

That is so funny. Just at dinner tonight Aubrey goes "oh, Dangit". Brett just started laughing. He said that it sounded just like me. I should probably watch what I say as well. Although I have to admit, it is pretty funny to hear. Loves

That is so funny. On the 4th of July when Lauren had just turned 2, she informed me that "the fireworks scared the crap out of me". I couldn't help but laugh!

We have the "Dangit" problem at our house. It is so adorable but equally alarming! I hear you!

that's cute :) I know what you mean. the other day Kyler was play pretending and one truck was asking the other if he could go outside and he sharply said "no" and I thought do I sound like that? I once taught him to say "holy crap" before... oopsie!

Uh, yeah, my kids say crap b/c I say it. We have tried to eradicate it, though. Our replacement word is "crud." LOL! :)
