All Better!

This last week and a half since we came home from the hospital has been very low key and spent mostly at home. The first few days were rough. His ears were hurting him and every time I had to suction him out it was traumatizing for us both! For the most part though his little body got better very quickly. By day seven at home he was back to normal physically. I can tell that the whole experience has really scared him though. He has major separation anxiety from me now and is very clingy. I know that in the grand scheme of things a bout with RSV and a short stay in the hospital is not a big deal, but I really did struggle with this. It about broke my heart to see my baby all tubed and wired. And I have such admiration now for parents who deal with longterm health problems in their kids and are so strong!

Yesterday we went to his four month well check and he got a clean bill of health. He is doing great! 50th and 50th in head and weight (the same as last time), but he's had a little growth spurt in height and is now in the 75th. His lungs are clear now, his ears look perfect, his cough and congestion are gone and we have the go to start rice cereal. Hooray!! Maybe getting his tummy nice and full with cereal will give us all a longer nights sleep! :)

Reunited!! They missed each other so much for those few days. I never realized before what an impact Livvy has on him. He just looks at her now and busts into this huge smile and belly laugh. I love listening to them gabbing back and forth in the back of the car while I'm driving. She'll sing a little song or say something in a silly voice and he will just laugh and laugh and then gab and squeal back. Three cheers for brothers and sisters!!!

I am so glad he is doing better. He is such a handsome kid. Now you can catch a glimpse of what it's like for me and Hayden's oxygen :) I hope he can get off it soon.

Em, that must have been so rough with your baby having RSV! I'm sorry you had to go through that. I was so paranoid about Elizabeth getting it. I'm glad that he is recovered and doing well. Your pictures are so cute! I really like the one with Olivia and Caleb together!

Hi Emily, This is Jen Pearson. AZ midwestern fan!. I am so glad to see that your little family is growing. I am not sure if my email address shows up or my blog. My email is tayhaysky@gmail.com and my blog is thepearsonclan.blogspot.com. It is fun to see how everyone is doing after those long years of struggling.
